Most recently, Northstar offers a paid day off to its employees get vaccinated for Covid-19, rest, and recover.

Northstar Access is one of the largest providers of scaffolding and other access solutions in Canada. Like many other organizations within the construction industry, we too faced many challenges due to COVID-19 Pandemic. We offered end-to-end Northstar employee support in covid-19. From redefining how we operate in many facets of our business in order to ensure a safe workplace for Northstar employees and a supportive working environment for our employees and clients.

Steps we took for Northstar employee support in covid-19

As the COVID-19 pandemic continues to evolve, many organizations continued to struggle with workplace safety such as slowed project timelines, or even shutting down entire companies due to COVID-19 outbreaks in offices and factories. On the contrary, Northstar has done exceptionally well preventing COVID-19 transmission and outbreaks in the workplace, with zero to date. We attribute our success to our resilient and diligent staff, who ensured COVID-19 safety policies and procedures. Below are the steps and procedures for Northstar employee support in COVID-19:

  • Convenient working schedule with appropriate breaks

  • Implementing strict face mask and physical distancing policies
  • Enhanced cleaning of office and shop facilities
  • Sick Leave and Vaccination Support

Paid ‘sick leave program’ for Northstar employee due to covid-19:

Northstar’s paid ‘sick leave program’ contributes the most, in particular, to defend our workers, their families, and our community from the potentially life-altering impacts of COVID-19. We heavily encourage our employees to stay home, if they or a member of their household experiences any COVID-19 symptoms. We ensure our employees would get compensated for their time spent getting tested for COVID-19. This is for our employees to secure and motivated. We have applied the program to all non-unionized and unionized staff (outside of any existing collective bargaining agreements).

CRSB Available government support for Northstar employee due to covid-19:

We want our employees to recover without the stress at any rate, without missing pay from work. Therefore, we would provide paid leave for our employees to recover from mandatory quarantine. In the addition, we would assist our employees with additional support available to qualified employees by the Canadian government accordingly.

Most recently, we have implemented a program that supports our employees with one full paid day off. This day off is to get vaccinated and moreover fully recover from any of the potential side effects of the COVID-19 vaccination.
