In 1967, Russell Dilworth founded Russ Dilworth Scaffold in Etobicoke, a suburb of Toronto, and initially focused on buying and selling used construction equipment. Russ quickly grew his business and expanded his inventory, offering multiple types of conventional scaffold and shoring equipment, and specialized in light weight aluminum scaffold for sale and rental. Eventually, the company began to offer labour to erect and dismantle scaffold, and with a unique focus on fast and quick delivery and installation, Russ Dilworth Scaffold became the leading one-stop-shop for scaffolding in the Greater Toronto Area.

In 2012 Russ sold his business to its current ownership (see our About Us section), and in 2015, was rebranded as Northstar Scaffold. By maintaining a service-first mentality, Northstar has continued to grow and be the leader in scaffold rental, delivery, and installation in the GTA and the Golden Horseshoe, all under the local leadership of Doug Thomas. In 2020, we moved from Etobicoke to a new larger yard and main headquarters in North York.
