Daily Inspections: Small Habits, Big Safety Wins

At Northstar Access, safety is part of the job before the first piece of scaffold is even touched.

Every morning, our crews complete a daily safety inspection — a job site analysis designed to identify hazards, ensure PPE compliance, and confirm that the site is safe to begin work. These inspections aren’t just paperwork — they’re a critical step in our commitment to protecting our workers, our clients, and the public.

What Our Daily Safety Inspections Cover

Whether we’re installing, modifying, or dismantling a scaffold system, our crews start with a structured checklist that includes:

  • Emergency planning (muster points, communication methods, first aid)
  • PPE checks (hard hats, harnesses, boots, reflective clothing)
  • Fall protection setup and verification
  • Environmental and situational hazards
  • Tool and equipment inspections
  • Crew stretch and warm-up reminders

We also document potential site hazards, such as overhead work, public proximity, material handling, and access points. These forms are reviewed and signed by every crew member and supervisor before any work begins.

Building Safe Scaffolds, the Safe Way

At Northstar, we don’t just deliver safe scaffold systems — we build them safely, too. Once our access system is fully installed and safety certified, it’s turned over to the customer for use. But until that moment, it’s our job to ensure that every ledger, brace, and tie-in is placed with care and caution.

That’s why daily safety inspections are so important. They help us:

  • Keep crews aware of changing site conditions
  • Prevent accidents before they happen
  • Reinforce a consistent safety culture
  • Maintain our COR-certified safety standards

A Culture of Accountability

You’ll find our inspection forms on every job site — from high-rise downtown builds to bridge work in remote areas. They’re part of our everyday process, and a key reason why Northstar Access is trusted across Canada for safe, professional scaffold services.

Safety First

At Northstar Access, safety isn’t just a requirement — it’s a responsibility we take seriously every day. From morning inspections to the final tie-off, our crews are committed to building and working safely, so every job gets done right.
